Shandong Province Electric Power Enterprise Association Receives RMB300,000 in Organizational Development Fund

On December 4 in Jinan, the Department of Civil Affairs of Shandong Province held a symposium on experience exchanges on social organizations in the province serving socioeconomic development. The symposium was attended by such government officials as Xu Jianguo (deputy director of Social Organizational Management Bureau under the Department of Civil Affairs of Shandong Province), Xing Hongrui, and Wang Shili. During the symposium, the Notice on Payment of Funds for Provincial Financial Support to Social Organizations to Serve Socioeconomic Development, and the Association had the honor of receiving RMB300,000 in social organization development fund.

This reward signifies the recognition and support of the Department of Civil Affairs of Shandong Province. In 2015, under the guidance of the Department of Civil Affairs of Shandong Province, the Association, by adhering to its tenet of serving members, society, and government, made great achievements in its various undertakings. By convening communication meetings such as the one on the Opinions of the State Council and CPC Central Committee about Deepening Electric Power Industry Reform, it helped its members to have a more comprehensive and accurate understanding of the basic contents and direction of electric power industry reform. It initiated the Shandong Province Electric Power Engineering Industry Integrity and Self-Regulation Treaty and signed it jointly with the first batch of more than 200 power engineering enterprises in the province such as SEPCOI in a bid to jointly build an integrity and self-regulation system for Shandong’s electric power engineering enterprises. It organized the first “Shandong Province Electric Power Employee Technological Achievement Award” Selection Activity and recommended the excellent achievements to CEC (China Electricity Council) for national selection, thus incentivizing the employees in Shandong’s electric power industry for their innovative efforts and promoting the commercialization of technological achievements.

Committed to serving as a platform of exchanges between government and enterprises, the Association provides advice for government in the formulation of industry development plans, revisions of industry standards, industry survey, etc. Its secretary general Xu Zhen attended a survey symposium by the Legal Reform Department of the National Energy Administration, where he made three suggestions on behalf of the Association according to the situation of Shandong’s electric power industry. In the revision of machinery and equipment standards in the Shandong Province Electrical Equipment Installation, Maintenance, and Test License, the Association capitalized on its advantageous role as an industry association and obtained the service of more than 100 experts from electrical equipment installation, maintenance, and test enterprises of different levels and natures, which was recognized by the Qualification Section of Shandong Energy Regulatory Office. It hosted the 15th RAISE Forum Meeting and the 1st China Energy Industry Information Security Forum in Qingdao, which was significant to promoting the exchanges of energy information security between China and other countries and regions and boosting the development of information security in the Chinese energy industry.

Consistently service-oriented, the Association will serve as a platform of communication and exchanges between government and enterprises, between industries, and between enterprises and provide substantial support for the healthy development of the electric power industry, province-wide economic transformation and upgrade, and the realization of a well-off society in China.
