The Association Successfully Organizes First “Shandong Province Power Employee Technological Achievement Award” Selection Defense Session

Only July 17, First “Shandong Province Power Employee Technological Achievement Award” Selection Defense Session took place in Jinan. It was attended by Li Ting, deputy secretary general of Shandong Province Electric Power Enterprise Association, along with grid-category expert review team and power supply-category expert review team.



During the session, Li Ting introduced the basic organization of the whole selection for the First “Shandong Province Power Employee Technological Achievement Award” Selection Defense Session and read out the four review principles for this selection defense session: First, the review shall be conducted in a scientific, standardized, open, fair, and generally accepted manner – represented in scientific review criteria, standardized selection methods, open review process, and fair review results; second, the review shall emphasize both the innovation and advancement of the contents and exemplary function of the targets under review; third, various factors of a project under review shall be taken into account, such as the innovativeness, depth, economic benefits, social benefits, and practicality; fourth, conflict of interest and confidentiality rules shall be followed in the review, that is, the judges shall not get involved in the review of their immediate family members.


Each project shortlisted had about 5 minutes for presenting its technological achievement, while the expert team would ask questions about the contents of the presentation. The expert would give the final result by considering the project’s innovativeness, depth, economic benefits, social benefits, practicality, etc.


The preparations for the First “Shandong Province Power Employees Technological Achievement Award” Selection Defense Session started in March of this year, with positive response from various electric power enterprises. It received a total of 255 applications, 223 of which were grid projects, and 32 were power supply projects. Based on the grid and power supply categories and upholding the principle of “scientific, standardized, open, fair, and generally accepted”, the Association organized experts on June 29 for preliminary review and selection, and it conducted the secondary review July 10 to 13. Through the two rounds of review, it selected 50 projects from various applications by category for this selection defense session, which included 40 grid projects and 10 power supply projects.
