October 30 was occasion for celebration for Shandong Province Electric Power Enterprise Association, as it was the fifth anniversary of its founding. It received congratulations online from some power electric enterprises province-wide, which also recognized the achievements of the Association over the past five years and its role as a facilitator of the industry’s development.
Since its founding on October 30, 2008, Shandong Province Electric Power Enterprise Association, previously known as Shandong Province Electrical Equipment Installation, Maintenance, and Test Enterprise Association, has experienced three stages of development. In its early stage, it was Shandong Province Electrical Equipment Installation, Maintenance, and Test Enterprise Association, whose work was in an initial phase, mainly serving the electrical equipment installation, maintenance, and test enterprises in Shandong. To adapt to the development of the industry, it was renamed as Shandong Province Electric Power Engineering Enterprise Association in May 2011 and so it entered a new stage of development; its scope of service expanded from the original electrical equipment installation, maintenance, and test enterprises to those involved in power generation, transmission, supplies, design, construction, supervision, etc.; in October 2012, it set up the Thermal Power Generation Professional Committee and New Energy Professional Committee; in March 2013, it created the Electrical Equipment Installation, Maintenance, and Test Professional Committee. In May 2013, it started to use its current name in order to meet the new requirements of the 18th Congress of the CPC for industry associations, to help government with administrative work, function as a tie between government and enterprises, and provide the industry with better service in a wider scope. It signified the Association entering a brand-new phase of its development.
Since its founding five years ago, the Association has seriously performed its duties at each stage of its development through solid work, strengthened the self-regulation of the industry, functioned as a bridge of communication, promoted the orderly and healthy development of the industry, and satisfactorily completed the various tasks specified in the Articles of Association, making impressive achievements in its various endeavors. At present, it has close to 500 member institutions and has been honored twice as an “Excellent Social Organization” by the Department of Civil Affairs of Shandong Province. In 2012, it was ratified by State Electricity Regulatory Office as a national “First-Grade Appraisal Institution for Power Engineering Project Work Safety Standardization Rating” and one of the “First Batch of First-Grade Appraisal Institutions for Grid Enterprise Work Safety Standardization”. Shandong Electric Power Community, a publication of the Association, was listed by Administration of News, Press, Radio, Film and Television of Shandong Province as an internal publication for the “Shandong Province Fourth Excellent Continuous Internal Publication Award”.
The Association is aware that its development and achievements over the past years would have been impossible without the care of the leaders of various levels, support of its members, and the efforts of its staff. In a new era of development, it will keep on perfecting its internal structure and expanding its social influence. By focusing on service always and functioning as a better bridge of communication, it will improve its function and level of service, aiming higher and further.
