Shandong Seeks State Approval of Building a Capacity of 3.3 million kW in Wind Power in 2016

According to the Development and Reform Commission of Shandong Province, the National Energy Administration just announced the scale of wind power development nationwide. Shandong will be building a capacity of 3.3 million kW – a record for years and one of the largest scales across the country. Up to now, the state has announced six batches of wind power projects and their capacities. In Shandong, 161 wind farms have been built, with a combined installed capacity of 7.44 million kW that is ranked among the top five in the country; wind power accounts 7.6% of the total installed capacity in the province, significantly contributing to the optimization of energy structure and promotion of energy efficiency.
